Work to complete the initial Phase 1 stage of the Accrington Town Square project is now drawing to a close, with works to repair and restore the building fabric on two key heritage buildings, Market Hall and Burtons Chambers buildings. With the buildings carefully restored externally, the next phase of works to progress will focus on the internal fit-out. This aims to bring them back to life as vibrant, functional and welcoming spaces for the community to enjoy, plus a new location for local businesses and entrepreneurs to come together.
Hyndburn Council is looking for a contractor partner to carry out the Phase 2 fit-out works, ensuring the project is delivered efficiently while preserving the historic fabric of thesebuildings. The Council is seeking experienced contractors capable of meeting the project’s quality and heritage requirements. The town square project is being delivered through funding by UK Government funding alongside match funding contributions from Hyndburn Borough Council and Lancashire County Council.
