Hyndburn Borough Council are thrilled to share a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of Accrington Town Square. The scaffolding at Burtons Chambers has been removed, revealing the building’s stunning new windows for the first time. This marks a key step in the revitalisation of this historic structure as part of the wider town centre regeneration project.
As the project progresses, these visible changes highlight the hard work and collaboration behind the scenes. The new windows bring a fresh look to Burtons Chambers, helping to restore and preserve the building’s character while contributing to the town’s vibrant future.
This is just one of many exciting updates happening in the town centre, and we look forward to sharing more progress in the coming months.
Work to complete the initial Phase 1 stage of the Accrington Town Square project is now drawing to a close, with works to repair and restore the building fabric on two key heritage buildings, Market Hall and Burtons Chambers buildings. With the buildings carefully restored externally, the next phase of works to progress will focus on the internal fit-out. This aims to bring them back to life as vibrant, functional and welcoming spaces for the community to enjoy, plus a new location for local businesses and entrepreneurs to come together.
Accrington Town Square’s projects have been made possible through the Government funding. For further information about the Accrington Town Square transformation and to find out how to get involved in the various upcoming projects, head to Home – Accrington Town Square.
