Hyndburn Borough Council’s delivery partner for the Accrington Town Square projects, Morgan Sindall, has made a generous donation to Maundy Relief, a vital local charity offering support to people in Hyndburn facing poverty, social isolation, and health challenges. The donation was carefully tailored to the charity’s immediate priorities and will directly help local individuals and families who are struggling with the rising cost of living, particularly by supporting efforts to tackle food poverty.
Last year alone, Maundy Relief supported over 2,500 individuals and families and contributions like these are a crucial part of making that possible.
Lucy Hardwick, CEO of Maundy Relief said:
“This generous donation will have a real impact on the lives of those living in poverty in Hyndburn where so many individuals and families are struggling with the high cost of living. It will enable us to reach more people in need in these tough times.
Maundy Relief’s beneficiaries are from all sections of our community and come to us for a wide variety of reasons including help with food, benefits or housing, mental and physical health issues and social isolation. We supported more than 2,500 people last year with food, emergency accommodation and counselling, advice and health services. We would be unable to deliver these services without the kindness of people like this who support the charity.”
Accrington Town Square’s projects have been made possible through UK Government funding. For further information about the Accrington Town Square transformation and to find out how to get involved in the various upcoming projects, head to Home – Accrington Town Square.
