Consultation on Accrington Town Centre Masterplan Framework

Hyndburn Borough Council and Lancashire County Council have created a new vision for Accrington Town Centre to drive its regeneration.
The Accrington Town Centre Investment Plan (TCIP) 2022-2032 sets out an aspiration to create a vibrant, bustling and proud market town steeped in industrial, cultural and architectural heritage.
It outlines up to £70m of potential investments set to radically transform Accrington’s prospects for the future and improve the lives and opportunities of local residents.
The next stage of delivering this vision is creating an Accrington Town Centre framework masterplan. This will build on the work already happening to transform the area around the Town Square into the town’s central food, drink, shopping, workspace and leisure destination.
The masterplan framework will provide a 10-year roadmap for regeneration that will be used to guide future growth and development and will evolve over time.

What happens next?
Your feedback will help us to shape the Masterplan Framework and once finalised it will be adopted by Hyndburn Council as a material planning consideration. This means that it will be taken into account when determining future planning applications for the town centre. A report outlining the feedback received and how we have responded will accompany the Masterplan Framework.
